Welcome to the online home of Mark Bettis - a longstanding and highly successful professional handler.
Together with his wife, Michaela, they run a top quality show team and kennel as well as being established breeders of their chosen breeds.
Not only has Mark worked with the greats of this sport, including George Ward, Corkie and Sue Vroom and Clay Coady, but he has also been involved with his family's Wire Fox Terriers (Aljamar) his entire life, and now runs the breeding program. Mark is most well known for his success in the Bearded Collie ring, having had the #1 Beardie for many years, including the #1 Herding dog in the country; winning the Herding group at Westminster with 'Andrew' as well as numerous group placings with a number of different Beardies and also a National Specialty Best of Breed with 'Fizz'. The last 5 years has seen Mark invloved with another breed which he loves - Flat Coated Retrievers (Baycreek at first, now named Windy Hill), bred in conjunction with Dr Robert & Sonja Rickert and Leanne Selof and are bred and raised here at our property in MI.
Michaela comes from a family of Hounds & Terriers (Argowan) in Australia, growing up with Borzoi, Deerhounds, Whippets and Scotties, with a few Kerry Blues and Westies in there also. Michaela's main love are her Borzoi & Whippets and with the recent arrival of some of her dogs here in the States from Australia, she hopes to continue producing beautiful, sound Sighthounds who are true to type.
With the kennel located on the beautiful historical property, built and previously owned by the late George Ward, consisting of riverside acreage with gardens and plenty of room to run, we offer a peaceful home for our dogs & somewhere to relax between shows - ensuring happy, fit dogs - whether they be seasoned show dogs, or young puppies here to grow and learn.
We use and recommend Purina Pro Plan 'Performance' dog food
and Isle of Dogs (Midwest) grooming products
